Tokyo stocks open slightly lower on Greece concerns

Tokyo stocks opened slightly lower in early trading Tuesday on concerns over Greek debt crisis.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 52.31 points, or 0.30 percent, from Monday to 17,659.62.

However, the broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 1.42 points, or 0.10 percent, at 1, 426.34.

Major decliners included nonferrous metal, machinery and pharmaceutical issues while mining led gainers. Endi
