Greece's new government will stick to its anti-austerity pre-election agenda and will not request an extension of the current bailout program which expires on February 28, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said on Sunday during a closely watched policy statement at the parliament.
Athens will instead seek a bridge agreement with international lenders until a new comprehensive deal will be signed after a renegotiation of the country's debt load, the Greek Premier added. (Greece-Austerity)

CAIRO -- At least 22 Egyptian soccer fans were killed and some 20 others injured in the clashes with police on Sunday night in the capital Cairo, Egypt's state-run MENA news agency reported.
The clashes took place when the fans of Zamalek club, known as Ultras White Knights, tried to storm Cairo's Air Defense Stadium to watch the match between Zamalek and Enppi club without buying tickets. (Egypt-Soccer-Clash)

AMMAN -- The U.S. envoy for the international coalition against the Islamic State (IS) group has said that a major ground offensive will start soon, the state-run Petra news agency reported on Sunday.
The Iraqi forces will lead the offensive with support from members of the coalition, the U.S. envoy General John Allen said in an interview with the Amman-based news agency. (US-IS-Ground Offensive)
