Dutch league leaders PSV kept their 12-point advantage with number two Ajax in the 22nd match round of the Eredivisie.

Ajax took the lead against Go Ahead Eagles in Deventer when Anwar El Ghazi converted a cross from the left by Ricardo Kishna in the 24th minute. Sjoerd Overgoor equalized with a stunning volley in the 70th minute, but due to a mistake by Go Ahead Eagles goalkeeper Mickey van der Hart Ajax was presented the late 2-1 victory. He misjudged a back pass by Wesley Verhoek, which bounced over his foot into the goal.

On Saturday league leaders PSV booked their ninth consecutive victory. The Eindhoven based team beat FC Utrecht 3-1 at home. At half-time the score was 0-0, but Luciano Narsingh and Memphis Depay found the net on behalf of PSV just after the start of the second half.

Utrecht came back through a goal by Yassin Ayoub and the visitors even had possibilities for the equalizer, but Depay decided the match with a free-kick in injury-time. With his two goals Eredivisie topscorer Depay increased his goal tally to fifteen this season.

Also on Saturday Dutch Cup holders PEC Zwolle suffered a heavy defeat at sc Heerenveen: 4-0. Luciano Slagveer, Sam Larsson and Mark Uth (penalty) earned the home-team a 3-0 lead in the first half and substitute Henk Veerman produced the fourth five minutes from the end.

Due to the defeat of PEC Zwolle Feyenoord had the chance to overtake the third position again on Sunday against SC Cambuur and they did. However, the 2-1 win was not convincing. Karim El Ahmadi and Colin Kazim-Richards scored just before and after the halfway signal, but a goal by Martijn Barto gave Cambuur hope until the end. Cambuur played with ten men since the 57th minute after a red card for striker Bartholomew Ogbeche.

PSV now lead the Eredivisie with 58 points from 22 matches, twelve ahead of Ajax (46) and seventeen ahead of Feyenoord and AZ (both 41), which defeated FC Groningen 4-2 on Sunday after coming from 2-0 behind. PEC Zwolle (39) dropped to the fifth position. Endi
