Mavericks rally past Portland in OT, Pelicans' Davis injured

Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki scored in a tying 3-pointers with 20 seconds remaining in the Mavericks' late rally to beat the Portland Trail Blazers 111-101 on Saturday.

The Mavericks now have one more win than the Blazers, but the Trail Blazers have a greater winning percentage and the comfort of leading the Northwest Division by 8-1/2 games.

Nowitzki scored 25 points and Chandler Parsons had 10 of his 20 points in overtime for the Mavericks, who never led in the second half but never trailed in the extra session. Dallas improved to 5-0 in overtime games this season

Elsewhere, Chicago Bulls thrashed New Orleans Pelicans 107-72 to regain leadership of the Central Division, but remained half a game behind Washington in the Eastern Conference after the Wizards crushed the Brooklyn Brooklyn 114-77 to end a five-game losing skid.
