Jordan launched new rounds of airstrikes against the Islamic State (IS) militants for the third straight day after its pilot was burned alive by the terrorist group, the Jordan Armed Forces said on Saturday.

In a statement posted on its website, the army said fighter jets bombed several IS locations, and returned safely. (Jordan-IS-Bombing)

ANKARA -- At least six people were killed on Saturday when a boat with 12 illegal migrants sank off western Turkey, private Dogan news agency reported.

The boat, heading to the nearby Greek island Kos, capsized in the Aegean Sea near western Turkey's Mugla province, said the report, adding that six bodies were recovered in the sea. (Turkey-Boat-Sink)

KABUL -- A clash between security forces and Taliban militants in the eastern Nangarhar province have claimed eight lives, including six insurgents and two police, on Friday night, spokesman for provincial government Ahmad Zia Abdulzai said Saturday.

"The armed insurgents attacked a police checkpoint in Ghani Khil district late Friday night, killing two policemen, but the police retaliated, killing six insurgents on the spot," Abdulzai told reporters. (Afghanistan-Clash)

BAGHDAD -- The death toll of Saturday's double suicide bombing attacks in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad climbed to 36, said a police source.

NEW DELHI -- In what could be a setback for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, all the exit polls Saturday predicted a clear majority for the anti-graft Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Delhi assembly elections.
