One killed in bomb blast at India-Myanmar border

One person was killed and another seriously injured when a powerful bomb exploded Thursday night along the India-Myanmar border in the northeast Indian state Manipur's Ukhrul district, said local media Friday.

The explosion occurred at Tarong village near India-Myanmar border and the bomb was planted by suspected militants on the roadside to attack the security personnel posted there, said the Press Trust of India.

Some militant groups in India's restive northeast region have been waging a small scale insurgency for independence or greater autonomy. Endi
