The 16th Vietnam Fun Cup, an international windsurfing competition, kicked off on Friday at the Phan Thiet beach's Jibe Beach Club in Vietnam's central Binh Thuan province, about 1,150 km south of capital Hanoi, reported local Vietnam News daily.

For the two-day race, nearly 40 pro and amateur competitors from around the globe, mainly from Europe, Russia, Singapore and Vietnam will congregate, making this spectator-friendly windsurfing display one of the best in Southeast Asia, according to Jibe's Beach Club who hosted the event.

Upon the contest's regulations, windsurfers will participate in the competitive categories for professional or amateur athletes. In particular, the distance for professional athletes competing in Figure 8 Slalom Racing has been fixed at 3,200m. Endi
