Cameroon to hold forum to discuss fund for int'l force against Boko Haram

Xinhua, February 4, 2015 Adjust font size:

Cameroon will hold a three-day forum starting Thursday in Yaounde to discuss the establishment of a fund to aid the international force that will be involved in fighting against Boko Haram militant group, official sources said Wednesday.

The formation of an international force to fight against Boko Haram was decided during the recent African Union summit held in Ethiopia between Jan. 30 to 31.

Participants at the Yaounde forum will include experts from AU, the United Nations, Lake Chad Basin Commission, Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Economic Community of West African States and Economic Community of Central African States.

The forum's objective is to come up with a work plan to enable the international force of about 7,500 troops to achieve its mandate, the sources said.

Representatives from the United States, Britain and France will also attend closed-door meetings during the forum. Endi
