Huntelaar suspended for three more Bundesliga games

Xinhua, February 4, 2015 Adjust font size:

Schalke's Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has been suspended for the next three Bundesliga games for his wild hack at the back of Schmiedebach's legs in last Saturday's Hanover game.

Huntelaar, 31, got a straight red card for the fierce tackle, which made him sit out Schalke's 1-1 draw at Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

But the German Football Association decided that the offence warranted a four-game ban in total, which ruled him out until Schalke's Champions League last 16 first leg with Real Madrid in Gelsenkirchen.

Huntelaar, who has scored seven goals in 17 games this season, must also pay a 15,000 euros (17,177 U.S. dollars) fine. Endi
