The Cameroonian army supported by Chadian troops has managed to regain control of Fotokol town in Cameroon's Far North Region neighbouring Nigeria, military sources said.

The army made a strategic retreat Wednesday following a morning attack by about 7,000 Boko Haram militants armed with 30 armored trucks, 10 vehicles and hundreds of motorcycles, as well as sophisticated weapons.

Military sources earlier said 3 Cameroonian soldiers and 14 Chadian soldiers died and a huge number of Boko Haram militants were killed during the clash. Endi
