Singapore stocks close 0.28 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 9.55 points, or 0.28 percent, to close at 3,417.57.

A total of 1.22 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 3 billion Singapore dollars (963 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 220 to 203, with 513 others unchanged.

The STI index lost 15.33 points, or 0.45 percent, to close at 3, 408.02 on Tuesday. Endi
