1 killed, 3 injured in Australian shopping center explosion

One person was killed and three others were injured in an explosion on Tuesday at the Perth shopping center in Western Australia.

Police said the explosion occurred at 9:30 a.m. local time as the result of faulty transformer, confirming that one person was dead and three people were burned seriously.

A witnesses saw four men, who had caught on fire, running out of the doors of the center and screaming for help.

Channel Nine reporter Oliver Peterson said the incident occurred near Woolworths in Russell Street, one of Australia's largest retail chains.

"They're blocking people off around the car park, keeping them 10 to 15 meters away," he said. Endi
