"I am really looking forward to this new challenge and I hope that I can help," Olic said at the official presentation.
The Croatian international played the last three years for Wolfsburg where he was a key player with 28 goals in 78 appearances. However, in his two years at Hamburg he scored overall 48 goals in 115 games to become a crowd-pleaser.
"He is a great person and, as a player, an excellent addition to our strikers that we already have. His attitude and charisma are great," Hamburg' s director of professional soccer Peter Knaebel said.
Olic, who received the jersey number 8 at Hamburg, is since 2002 part of the Croatian national soccer team. He scored 19 goals in 100 international cap.
