Morocco strongly condemns attacks on Egypt's Sinai Peninsula

Moroccan government strongly condemned the attacks in Egypt's North Sinai that claimed at least 26 lives and left several others injured, a statement released by Moroccan Foreign Ministry said on Friday.
"The Kingdom of Morocco renews its rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism that targets Egypt, whatever their motives and justifications are," the statement said.
"Morocco conveys its deepest sympathy for Egyptian government and victims' families, and expresses the hope for a prompt recovery to the wounded and injured," it said.
A series of deadly attacks targeting the security forces occured in Egypt's restive Sinai peninsula on Thursday, which left at least 26 security men dead and dozens wounded.
Reports said several tweets from a Twitter account named Sinai Province claimed responsibility for those attacks.
Last year, Egypt's most active militant group Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis changed its name to Sinai Province after swearing allegiance to the Islamic State militant group. Endit
