EU expresses support for Egypt after Sinai terrorist attacks

Xinhua, January 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

The European Union's (EU) foreign affairs chief Federica Mogherini here on Friday said the EU stood by Egypt in addressing the multiple challenges the country was facing after bloody terrorist attacks in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula on Thursday.

"These continued attacks undermine Egypt's stability and economic development," she said in a statement to extend the EU's condolences to the country.

"The fight against terrorism will remain EU's priority and, together with our partners, we need to jointly tackle this common threat," Mogherini said.

A series of attacks targeting Egyptian security forces occurred on Thursday, killing at least 26 security men and leaving dozens wounded. Endit
