Macedonia introduces e-payment for customs duties at border crossings

Xinhua, January 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

Macedonia has installed terminals at 24 border crossings to facilitate electronic payment of customs duties, the Macedonian information agency reported Thursday.

People can now pay customs duties at border crossings while formalities are processed, instead of going to the nearest post office or bank, the director of Macedonian customs administration Natas Radeska-Krstevska said.

The cashless payment, she added, is intended to speed up administrative procedures at customs and improve service quality by utilizing technology.

Those passing through Macedonian borders can pay customs duties with a variety of cards, she added. Endit
