UN Mission in South Sudan ( UNMISS) on Tuesday condemned a roadside ambush in South Sudan's west, which killed eleven people, including five journalists.

According to UN spokesperson's office, UNMISS called on local, state and national authorities to investigate the incident and bring those responsible to justice.

On Sunday, unidentified gunmen ambushed a two-car convoy transporting the new County Commissioner of Raja, James Benjamin, and journalists, when they were on the way back to Raja county, Bahr al Ghazal state, according to UN spokesperson's office.

It was the second roadside attack in the country in less than two weeks. The motive behind the attack and its perpetrators are unknown. Endite
