China's benchmark Shanghai Composite Index on the Shanghai Stock Exchange closed at 3,351.76 points Friday, up 0.25 percent.

Total turnover: 420.98 billion yuan (68.79 billion U.S. dollars) .

BEIJING -- The Shenzhen Component Index on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange closed at 11,436.29 points Friday, down 0.3 percent.

Total turnover: 292.69 billion yuan (47.83 billion U.S. dollars) .

BEIJING -- The Shenzhen Component Index on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange closed at 11,471.21 points on Thursday, up 0.87 percent.

Total turnover: 306.3 billion yuan (50.01 billion U.S. dollars).

VIENTIANE -- The Lao stock market finished on Friday with composite index unchanged at 1,413.58.

A total of 15,937 shares worth about 79 million Lao kip (about 10,000 U.S. dollars) changed hands at the stock market.

TOKYO -- Tokyo shares ended higher Friday with its benchmark Nikkei stock index reaching a three-week high due to the monetary easing decision made by the European Central Bank in efforts to boost eurozone economy.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average jumped 182.73 points, or 1. 05 percent, higher from Friday at 17,511.75.

The turnover was about 2,123.7 billion yen (about 17.91 billion U.S. dollars).

HONG KONG -- Taiwan's share prices closed up 1.08 percent Friday with the weighted index up 101.43 points at 9,470.94, according to news reaching here from Taipei.

Turnover totaled 118.76 billion new Taiwan dollars (3.79 billion U.S. dollars during the trading session.

SYDNEY -- The Australian share market was buoyed by the European Central Bank's billion euro stimulus on Friday to record its biggest weekly gain in two years.

The Australian share market leapt by 1.5 percent at the close on Friday.

The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was up 81.9 points, or 1.51 percent, at 5,501.8, while the broader All Ordinaries index rose 77.7 points, or 1.44 percent, to 5,468.2.

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks moved up 327.82 points, or 1.34 percent, to close on Friday at 25,850.45 points.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 24,726.77 and 24, 896.22. Turnover totaled 106.06 billion HK dollars (about 13.69 billion U.S. dollars).

HO CHI MINH CITY -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in south Vietnam, closed at 582.38 points on Friday, up 7.84 points or 1.36 percent against the previous trading day's closing session.

About 184.122 million shares worth 2.837 trillion Vietnamese dong (VND) (132.25 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the southern HCM City Stock Exchange. Prices of 136 stocks went up, 77 stocks fell down, while 65 stocks remained unchanged.

MANILA -- Philippine shares closed 1.79 percent higher on Friday.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index increased by 132. 62 points to 7548.93. The all-share index went up by 67.18 points, or 1.55 percent, to 4403.42.

Trading volume reached 3.41 billion shares worth 7.48 billion pesos (168.62 million U.S. dollars).

HANOI -- The stock market index of Vietnam's capital Hanoi, HNX- Index, closed at 86.86 points on Friday, up 1.2 points or 1.4 percent against the previous trading session.

A total of 63.131 million shares worth 699.839 billion Vietnamese dong (33.17 million U.S. dollars) were traded at the Hanoi Stock Exchange on Friday, an increase of 48.02 percent in volume and 43.55 percent in value against the previous trading session.

SINGAPORE -- Singapore stocks finished higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 41.21 points, or 1.22 percent, to close at 3,411.5.

A total of 1.8 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 57 billion Singapore dollars (1.17 billion U.S. dollars).

JAKARTA -- Indonesian shares closed higher by 61.29 points, or 1.17 percent, to a level of 5,314.47 on Friday.

Some 295,524 transactions were booked, involving 5.87 billion shares worth 7.02 trillion rupiah (about 563.89 million U.S. dollars).

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian stock market ended higher here on Friday.

The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) was at 1,803.08 up 21. 33 points or 1.18 percent, and the Emas was at 12,412.10 up 127.31 points or 1.03 percent.

Turnover increased to 2.61 billion shares valued at 3.13 billion ringgit Malaysia (868.36 million U.S. dollars), compared with 2.58 billion shares valued at 2.87 billion ringgit Malaysia ( 796.56 million U.S. dollars) on Thursday.

BANGKOK -- The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) index Friday moved up 37.99 points, or 2.43 percent to close at 1,598.33 points.
