A new film on the Armenian Genocide, "1915" , will be screened on April 24 to mark the 100th anniversary of the great tragedy, the Armenpress news agency reported Thursday.

The U.S. psychological thriller, written and directed by Garin Hovhannisyan and Alec Mouhabian of Armenian, was set against one of the most terrifying events of modern history.

"The film' s plot is based on all canons of modern thriller and it tells suspense, psychological story about the difficult moral consequences of genocide's denying," said the film's music composer Serj Tankian, a famous Armenian-American rock musician.

About 1.5 million Armenians were killed in the Ottoman Empire in 1915-1923, and the survivors were expelled and found refuge in different parts of the world.
