Vietnam's chief justice says no restricted area in combating corruption

There is no restricted area in the work of combating corruption in Vietnam, said Truong Hoa Binh, Chief Justice of the Vietnam Supreme People's Court on Wednesday.
Binh, a member of the ruling Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV)'s Central Steering Committee for Anti-corruption, made the remark at a conference of the CPV Central Internal Affairs Commission on summation of the commission's tasks in 2014 held in capital Hanoi.
Last year, the commission has managed to prosecute, investigate and proceed corruption cases in eight localities and examined the work of corruption prevention and control in seven ministries and sectors, Vietnam's state-run news agency VNA quoted a report released at the conference on Wednesday.
The year 2014 was the second year that the commission, standing body of the CPV Central Steering Committee for Anti-corruption chaired by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, has put into operation amid complicated corruption situations in Vietnam, assessed the report at the conference.
In late 2012, the CPV Politburo decided to set up the Central Internal Affairs Commission, which works as an advisory agency of the CPV Central Committee, particularly the Politburo and the Secretariat on anti-corruption and internal affairs.
Formerly, local Dan Tri (People's Knowledge) online newspaper on Tuesday quoted a report on summation of activities in 2014 of Vietnamese government inspectorate as saying that in 2014, Vietnam handled a total of 46 leaders of state-run organizations for relating responsibility of corruption occurring in their offices.
Among those, one faced criminal punishment, 35 with administrative punishments and disciplines being considered among 10 others. Endi
