Zimbabwe cricket team plan to train in Dubai for ICC World Cup 2015

Xinhua, January 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Zimbabwe national cricket team will set up in Dubai for the final part of their training camp ahead of the 2015 ICC World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The Southern African country failed in their bid to play one of the top sides ahead of the ICC official warm up matches, only managing a home series with minnows Canada.

Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) media manager Lovemore Banda confirmed that the team will go to Dubai on Jan. 28 after the final round of the domestic Pro 50 competition.

"The team will conduct its final leg of the training camp in Dubai," said Banda. "They will participate in two rounds of the Pro-50 domestic competition before they leave. The final part of the preparations is the two warm up matches organized by the ICC."

Zimbabwe's first Pool match is on Feb. 15 against South Africa, who are currently playing West Indies in a five match series. Endi
