Council of Europe offers support in Serbian reform

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and Tim Cartwright, Head of the Council of Europe Office, on Monday discussed ways to assist Serbia in reforming its judiciary, administration and human rights.

"During the conversation, it was agreed that Council of Europe can through its programs help reform the judiciary, the system of the public administration and the local self-government, improve the position for the national and other minorities in Serbia and the freedom of the media," according to a government press release.

Cartwright invited Vucic to visit the headquarters of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, France and suggested better communication between the organization and Serbia as the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) chair.

Vucic underlined that Serbia counts on support from the Council of Europe for the implementation of reforms. Endit
