2nd LD: Clashes break out between police and protesters in Kinshasa: witness

Police fired teargas at protesters opposed to the amendment of constitution in Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, witnesses said.

There has been reports that some wounded has been sent to local hospitals. Photos posted by demonstrators show men in police uniform lie on the ground in blood.

Witnesses said several shops were robbed, and some parts of the city cordoned off.

A business man said his shop, near the police station of the Lemba Bypass, was robbed and himself beaten. Another shop owner said most of the shops on the street where he operates were looted. Endi
