Government official in NE China under investigation

Wei Junxing, an official of northeast China's Liaoning Province, has been put under investigation for alleged serious law violations, according to Liaoning's anti-graft authorities.

The discipline inspection commission under the provincial committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) confirmed on Friday that Wei, former vice secretary of the provincial government, was being investigated for discipline and law violations.

Wei had previously served as Party chief of Kaiyuan city and the mayor of Jinzhou city. Endi
