Xinhua, January 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

Four people were killed when the dismantling process of a bridge in Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast went horribly wrong on Tuesday, authorities said.

The tragedy happened in the mid-morning at the Palmburgsky Bridge, also known as the Old Berlin Bridge, in Kaliningrad's Moskovsky District, local officials were quoted as saying.

Two others were rushed to hospital with serious injuries, and the fate of another, who was believed to be trapped under the rubble, has yet to be confirmed, they added.

The construction company held responsible is set to face criminal charges as evidence of breaches in security protocol has come to light, according to local media. Endi
