According to the reports, at least two security personnel were killed and three others were injured when their vehicle was hit by a landmine blast in Korkamna area of Kurram Agency, the country's northwest tribal region bordering Afghanistan.

The landmine was planted on the route that was usually used by the security forces for movement in the area.

The soldiers were attacked when their convoy was going to some check posts in the area to pick and drop soldiers for overnight duty, the reports said.

The bodies and injured were rushed to the army base from where they were shifted to the military hospital.

In another incident, some unknown gunmen opened fire at the personnel of Levies Force (a paramilitary force) in Mastung area of southwest province of Balochistan. The firing killed one Levies personnel on the spot and left his companion injured.
