U.S., partners continue airstrikes against IS in Syria, Iraq

U.S. and partner-nation military forces have conducted a total of 13 airstrikes against Islamic State (IS) forces in Syria and Iraq over the past two days, the U.S. Defense Department said on Thursday

According to a DOD statement, six airstrikes were conducted in Syria, destroying six IS fighting positions, an IS staging area, four IS crude oil pumps and five IS crude oil well heads, the statement said

Meanwhile, the international military forces conducted seven airstrikes in Iraq, destroying two IS vehicles, six IS tactical units, an IS bomb and an IS checkpoint.

Coalition nations conducting airstrikes in Iraq include the United States, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, the Netherlands and Britain. Coalition nations conducting airstrikes in Syria include the United States, Bahrain, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Endit
