Xinhua, January 9, 2015 Adjust font size:

Modibo Keita, the Malian government's representative leading peace talks with rebel groups, has been appointed as new prime minister, the presidency said Thursday.

He was appointed by President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, according to a presidential decree.

The new prime minister replaces Moussa Mara, who has just resigned.

Keita was named Mali's state representative for inter-Malian inclusive dialogue in April, 2014. He had served as prime minister in 2002 in the government led by then president Alpha Oumar Konare. Endi
