China, Indonesia bust drug-trafficking ring

Xinhua, January 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese and Indonesian police broke up a cross-border drug trafficking ring, capturing nine suspects, the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) announced on Thursday.

The suspects, including four from Hong Kong, four from Indonesia and one from Malaysia, were caught after delivering crystal meth, or "Ice", to warehouses in Indonesia on Monday. More than 862 kilograms were seized.

China collaborated with Indonesian authorities in June, 2012 pursuing a lead that a suspect surnamed Wang from Hong Kong was engaged in drug-trafficking in Indonesia.

Later, police from China's mainland and Hong Kong, as well as Indonesia joined hands in investigation, finally uncovering and arresting the drug ring. Endi
