Australia's central bank to freeze interest rate in 2015: Commonwealth Bank

Xinhua, January 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia ( CBA) predicted on Thursday that the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) will keep interest rates at a record low of 2.5 percent through 2015.

The Australia's biggest bank said it is now quite likely that the RBA will keep interest rates at record lows as the Australian dollar and oil prices keep falling.

However the bank tipped the RBA would raise interest rates in 2016.

The cash rate has remained at 2.5 percent from 2014, the lowest calendar year average since 1959. Endi
