Tokyo shares open sharply lower on crude prices, Greek woes

Tokyo shares opened sharply lower Tuesday as sentiment here was weighed down by dropping crude oil prices and concerns about Greek woes in the eurozone.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average tumbled 322.75 points, or 1.85 percent, from Monday to 17,085.96.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 24.85 points, or 1.77 percent, to 1, 376.24. Endi
