Chen Nanjin, a 12-year-old in an assistance center in Guangzhou, often dodges questions about his home and his parents. He said he was on his way to visit a friend in Zhongshan City, Guangzhou province. Chen says he will definitely return to his home in Guizhou province, where he is the only child of his ailing parents.
