Stocks open higher, tracking overnight Wall Street gains

Chinese stocks opened higher on Thursday morning, following overnight gains on Wall Street.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index was up 0.42 percent, or 11.02 points to open at 2,615.37 points. The Shenzhen Component Index opened at 8,798.41 points, up 0.4 percent, or 34.62 points.
The U.S. stock managed to close in positive territory Wednesday ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday as investors assessed the latest reports on the economy and some corporate earnings.
Brokerage firms and insurance companies led the gains. As of 10:00 a.m.,shares in Huatai Securities surged 9.98 percent to 15.32 yuan apiece, and shares in New China Life Insurance Company rose 6.18 percent to 40.91 yuan apiece.
