Slovenia's head of intelligence Andrej Ocek has asked to resign after less than a month on the job, the Government Communication Office said in a press release on Monday.
In his letter of resignation to Prime Minister Miro Cerar, Ocek attributed his decision to "external pressure," which had "affected the implementation of basic tasks in protection of national interests and providing national security."
The so-called pressure was not elaborated in the statement.
Ocek joined the intelligence system some 15 years ago, and was appointed by the new cabinet as intelligence boss on Oct. 22.
Two ministers -- Economy Minister Jozef Petrovic, and Development Minister Violeta Bulc, have resigned since Cerar and his cabinet took office on Sept. 18, 2014. Endit
