Algeria Trade Statistics in August of 2010
According to the statistics by Algeria Statistics Bureau, Algeria commodity import & export from January to August of 2010 amounted to US$61.43 billion with a year-on-year increase of 12.4%. Its export was US$35.37 billion up by 31.1%, and its import was US$26.06 billion, down by 5.7% year on year. The trade surplus was US$9.31 billion. Trade deficit in the same period last year registered US$0.66 billion.
In August, commodity import & export reached US$7.36 billion, down by 0.8%, of which US$4.34 billion was the export, up by 8.6%, and US$3.02 billion was the import, down by 11.9%. The trade surplus was US$1.32 billion.
Algeria-China bilateral trade amounted to US$3.98 billion in the first 8 months, up by 7.5%, of which, Algeria’s export to China was US$0.8 billion up by 133.0%, accounting for 2.3% of its total export, 1.0 percentage point up; Algeria’s import from China was US$3.18 billion, down by 5.3%, accounting for 12.2% of its total import, nearly the same as that of last year. Trade deficit was US$2.38 billion.
By the end of August, China ranked the 12th in Algeria’s export, and second, after France, in its import.
