Statistics of Mainland-Macao Trade and Economic Cooperation in January - April 2011

I. Mainland-Macao Trade
Mainland-Macao trade totaled US$ 710 million in January - March 2011, with a year-on-year increase of 8.3%, and accounting for 0.06% of Mainland’s total foreign trade. The export of Mainland to Macao was US$660 million, up by 4.7% year-on-year; and its import from Macao was US$50 million, up by 86.1% year-on-year.
In April, Mainland-Macao trade reached US$200 million, down by 4.8% over the previous month, of which Mainland’s export to Macao was US$ 190 million, down by 5% over the previous month, and its imports from Macao was US$11 million, same with the previous month.
II. Investment from Macao
In January-April 2011, 90 Macao-invested projects were approved by the Mainland, up by 30.4% year-on-year. The actual utilization of Macao capital decreased 23.1% year-on-year to US$200 million. In April 2011, 25 Macao-invested projects were approved by the Mainland, down 32.4% compared with that of the previous month. And the actual utilization of Macao capital was US$50 million, up by 25.0% compared with that in February. By the end of April 2011, the accumulated number of Macao-invested projects approved by the Mainland was 12,646 with the actual utilization of Macao capital hitting US$ 9.9 billion.
III. Mainland-Macao Economic Cooperation
In January - April 2011, the number of contracts for contracted projects and labor service reached 6, with the contract value of US$ 190 million. The turnover amounted to US$100 million. By the end of March, the number of labor dispatched to Macao was 49,970, and the accumulated turnover reached US$11.66 billion.
