I. Mainland-Macao Trade
Mainland-Macao trade totaled US$ 930 million in January-May 2011, with a year-on-year increase of 7.0%, and accounting for 0.07% of Mainland’s total foreign trade. The export of Mainland to Macao was US$ 860 million, up by 3.5% year-on-year; and its import from Macao was US$ 70 million, up by 82.8% year-on-year.
In May 2011, Mainland-Macao trade reached US$220 million, up by 10% over the previous month, of which Mainland’s export to Macao was US$ 200 million, up by 5.3% over the previous month, and its imports from Macao was US$ 20 million, up by 100% over the previous month.
II. Investment from Macao
In January-May 2011, 103 Macao-invested projects were approved by the Mainland, up by 10.8% year-on-year. The actual utilization of Macao capital decreased 24.3% year-on-year to US$ 250 million. In May 2011, 13 Macao-invested projects were approved by the Mainland, down 48.0% compared with that of the previous month. And the actual utilization of Macao capital was US$ 50 million, same with the previous month. By the end of May 2011, the accumulated number of Macao-invested projects approved by the Mainland was 12,659 with the actual utilization of Macao capital hitting US$ 9.95 billion.
III. Mainland-Macao Economic Cooperation
In January-May 2011, the number of contracts for contracted projects and labor service reached 7, with the contract value of US$ 190 million. The turnover amounted to US$ 130 million. By the end of May, the number of labor dispatched to Macao was 50,053, and the accumulated turnover reached US$ 11.68 billion.
