I. Mainland-Macao Trade
Mainland-Macao trade totaled US$ 1.40 billion in January – July 2011, with a year-on-year increase of 11.2%, and accounting for 0.07% of Mainland’s total foreign trade. The export of Mainland to Macao was US$ 1.30 billion, up by 8.1% year-on-year; and its import from Macao was US$ 100 million, up by 77% year-on-year.
In July 2011, Mainland-Macao trade reached US$ 230 million, down by 4.2% over the previous month, of which Mainland’s export to Macao was US$ 210 million, down by 8.7% over the previous month, and its imports from Macao was US$ 10 million, down by 50% compared with the previous month.
II. Investment from Macao
In January - July 2011, 158 Macao-invested projects were approved by the Mainland, up by 12.9% year-on-year. The actual utilization of Macao capital decreased 22.8% year-on-year to US$ 350 million. In July 2011, 19 Macao-invested projects were approved by the Mainland, down by 47.2% compared with that of the previous month. And the actual utilization of Macao capital was US$ 40 million, down by 33.3% over the previous month. By the end of July 2011, the accumulated number of Macao-invested projects approved by the Mainland was 12,714 with the actual utilization of Macao capital hitting US$ 10.05 billion.
III. Mainland-Macao Economic Cooperation
In January – July 2011, the number of contracts for contracted projects reached 8, with the contract value of US$ 320 million. The turnover amounted to US$ 130 million. By the end of July, the accumulated turnover reached US$ 11.68 billion.
