Foreign Trade Statistics of Canada (08/2010)
 
According to statistics by Statistics Canada, from January to August, 2010, goods import and export of Canada reached $505.35 billion, up by 24.8% year on year (same as below). Among it, export was $251.19 billion, up by 24.9%; and import was $254.16 billion, up by 24.6%. Trade deficit is $2.97 billion, up by 8.0%.

In August, import and export of Canada is $65.27 billion, up by 20.8%. Among it, export is $31.76 billion, up by 20.6%; and import is $33.51 billion, up by 21.0%. Trade deficit is $1.75 billion, up by 28.1%.

From January to August, Canada-China bilateral goods trade is $34.28 billion, up by 19.2%. Among it, Canada’s export to China is $7.46 billion, up by 11.0%, accounting for 3% of Canada’s total export value, down by 0.4 percentage point; Canada’s import from China is $26.82 billion, up by 21.7%, accounting for 10.6% of Canada’s total import, down by 0.3 percentage point.

From January to August, Canada’s trade deficit with China is $19.35 billion, up by 26.3%, making China the largest trade deficit source country of Canada.
By August, China is Canada’s third largest export destination and the second largest import source country.
