According to the statistics by Brazil Secretariat of Foreign Trade, from January to November of 2010, its commodity import & export amounted to US$347.08 billion with a year-on-year increase of 36.7%. Its export was US$181 billion and its import was US$166.09 billion, up by 30.7% and 44.0% year on year respectively. The trade surplus of Brazil was US$14.91 billion, down by 35.6%.

In November, commodity import & export reached US$35.06 billion, up by 42.0%, of which US$17.69 billion was the export and US$17.38 billion was the import, up by 39.8% and 44.3% respectively. The trade surplus was US$0.31 billion, down by 49.2%.

From January to November, commodity import & export in Brazil-China bilateral trade amounted to US$51.58 billion, up by 53.9%, of which, Brazil’s export to China was US$28.16 billion with a growth of 47.7%, accounting for 15.6% of its total export, 1.8 percentage points up; Brazil’s import from China was US$23.42 billion with a growth of 62.1%, accounting for 14.1% of its total import, 1.6 percentage points up.

In the first 11 months of 2010, surplus in Brazil-China trade was US$4.74 billion, up by 2.6%.

By November, China was Brazil’s largest trading partner, largest export destination and second largest import source.
