Australia Trade Statistics (11/2011)
According to the statistics by Australian Bureau of Statistics, from January to November of 2010, its commodity import & export amounted to US$367.27 billion with an increase of 29.8% year-on-year (same as below). Commodity export was US$191.66 billion and import US$175.61 billion, up by 37.3% and 22.5% year on year respectively. The trade surplus of Australia was US$16.04 billion. Trade was in deficit the same period last year.
In November, Australia’s commodity import & export reached US$38.53 billion, up by 30.2%, of which US$19.56 billion was the export and US$18.97 billion was the import, up by 45.5% and 17.4% respectively. The trade surplus was US$0.59 billion. Trade was in deficit November last year.
From January to November, commodity import & export in Australia-China bilateral trade amounted to US$80.73 billion, up by 44.2%, of which, Australia’s export to China was US$47.94 billion with a growth of 59.7%, accounting for 25.0% of its total export, 3.5 percentage points up; Australia’s import from China was US$32.79 billion with a growth of 26.3%, accounting for 18.7% of its total import, 0.6 percentage points up.
In the first 11 months, Australia’s trade surplus with China was US$15.15 billion, up by 274.2%.
By November, China was Australia’s first largest trading partner, first largest export destination and first largest import source.
