Foreign Trade Statistics of Canada in December of 2010
According to statistics by Statistics Canada, from January to December, 2010, goods import and export of Canada reached $778.29 billion, up by 22% year on year (same as below). Among it, export was $387.12 billion, up by 22.3%; and import was $391.18 billion, up by 21.7%. Trade deficit is $4.06 billion, down by 16.7%.

In December, import and export of Canada was $68.18 billion, up by 16.0%. Among it, export was $35.73 billion, up by 21.1%; and import is $32.46 billion, up by 10.9%. Trade surplus was $3.27 billion, up by 13.6%.

From January to December, Canada-China bilateral goods trade was $55.99 billion, up by 25.2%. Among it, Canada’s export to China was $12.87 billion, up by 31.7%, accounting for 3.3% of Canada’s total export value, down by 0.2 percentage point; Canada’s import from China was $43.12 billion, up by 23.4%, accounting for 11.0% of Canada’s total import, down by 0.2 percentage point.

From January to December, Canada’s trade deficit with China was $30.25 billion, up by 20.1%, making China the largest trade deficit source country of Canada.

By December, China is Canada’s third largest export destination and the second largest import source country.
