Statistics on Mainland-Macao Trade and Economic Cooperation in January-June 2012

I. Mainland-Macao Trade
Mainland-Macao trade in January-June 2012 totaled US$ 1.30 billion, with a year-on-year increase of 10.8%, of which Mainland export to Macao was US$ 1. 23 billion, up by 12.8% year-on-year; and its import from Macao was US$ 70 million, down by 15.2% year-on-year.
In June 2012, Mainland-Macao trade reached US$ 250 million, up by 1.6% month-on-month, of which Mainland export to Macao was US$ 230 million, down by 0.3% month-on-month, and its imports from Macao was US$ 20 million, up by 36.6% month-on-month.
II. Investment from Macao
In January-June 2012, 131 Macao-invested projects were approved by the Mainland, down by 5.8% year-on-year, and the actual utilization of Macao capital decreased 14.9% year-on-year to US$ 270 million. In June 2012, 31 Macao-invested projects were approved by the Mainland, up by 72.2% month-on-month, and the actual utilization of Macao capital was US$ 70 million, same as that of the previous month.
By the end of June 2012, the accumulated number of Macao-invested projects approved by the Mainland was 12,970 with the actual utilization of Macao capital hitting US$ 10.64 billion, and investment from Macao accounted for 0.9% in China’s absorption of foreign capital.
III. Mainland-Macao Economic Cooperation
In January-June 2012, the number of project contracts won by Mainland in Macao reached 13, with the contract value of US$ 410 million. The turnover amounted to US$ 110 million. By the end of June, the number of labor dispatched to Macao was 60,469, and the accumulated turnover by Mainland in Macao reached US$ 9.01 billion.
