Statistics on Mainland-Macao Trade and Economic Cooperation in January-March 2013

I. Mainland-Taiwan Trade
Mainland-Taiwan trade in January-March 2012 amounted to US$ 850 million, up by 42.1% year on year, accounting for 0.09% of Mainland’s total trade, of which, US$ 700 million was Mainland’s export to Macao and US$ 150 million was Mainland’s import from Macao, up by 23.6% and 352.1% respectively.
In March 2013, Mainland-Macao trade was US$ 290 million, up by 44.6% month on month. Of which Mainland’s export to Macao was US$ 240 million, up by 52.6% compared with that of the previous month; and import from Macao was US$ 50 million, up by 14.3% compared with that of the previous month.
II. Investment from Macao
In January-March, 2013, 58 Macao-invested projects were approved by the Mainland, down by 3.3% year on year. The actual use of Taiwan capital was US$ 100 million, increased by 7.6% year on year.
In March 2013, there were 28 Taiwan-invested projects approved by the Mainland, up by 300% month on month. The actual use of Macao capital was US$ 30 million, up by 12.9 % month on month.
By the end of March 2013, the accumulated number of Taiwan-invested projects approved by the Mainland was 13,200 with the actual use of US$ 1.1 billion. In terms of utilized capital, Macao capital accounts for 0.8% of Mainland accumulated foreign capital.
III. Mainland-Macao Economic Cooperation
In January-March, 2013, the contracts for contracted projects reached 9, with value of US$ 460 million. The turnover amounted to US$ 100 million. By the end of March 2013, the total number of labor dispatched to Macao was 70,516, and the accumulated turnover reached US$ 9.47 billion.
