Statistics on Mainland-Macao Trade and Economic Cooperation in January-June 2013

I. Mainland-Taiwan Trade
Mainland-Taiwan trade in January-June 2013 amounted to US$ 1.79 billion, up by 37.9% year on year, of which, US$ 1.57 billion was Mainland’s export to Macao, and US$ 220 million was Mainland’s import from Macao, up by 28% and 20.27% respectively.
In June 2013, Mainland-Macao trade was US$ 250 million, down by 22.1% month on month. Of which Mainland’s export to Macao was US$ 230 million, down by 25.2% compared with that of the previous month; and import from Macao was US$ 20 million, up by 35.6% compared with that of the previous month.
II. Investment from Macao
In January-June, 2013, 140 Macao-invested projects were approved by the Mainland, down by 6.9% year on year. The actual use of Taiwan capital was US$ 260 million, down by 2.8% year on year.
In June 2013, there were 26 Taiwan-invested projects approved by the Mainland, down by 10.3% month on month. The actual use of Macao capital was US$ 80 million, up by 228% month on month.
By the end of June 2013, the accumulated number of Taiwan-invested projects approved by the Mainland was 13,282 with the actual use of US$ 11.15 billion. In terms of utilized capital, Macao capital accounts for 0.8% of Mainland accumulated foreign capital.
III. Mainland-Macao Economic Cooperation
In January-June, 2013, the contracts for contracted projects reached 13, with value of US$ 550 million. The turnover amounted to US$ 200 million. By the end of June 2013, the total number of labor dispatched to Macao was 75,986, and the accumulated turnover reached US$ 9.57 billion.
