Statistics on Mainland-Taiwan Trade and Investment in January-October 2013

I. Mainland-Taiwan Trade

In January-October 2013, trade between Mainland and Taiwan is USD 164.28 billion, up by 21.1% year-on-year, accounting for 4.8% of the total volume of our foreign trade. Among that, export to Taiwan is USD 33.68 billion, up by 16.5%; import from Taiwan is USD 130.6 billion, up by 22.3%. Taiwan is our seventh largest trading partner and fifth largest source of import.

In October 2013, trade between Mainland and Taiwan is USD 15.97 billion, down by 5.8 than that of the previous month. Among that, export to Taiwan is USD 3.16 billion, up by 0.6% than that of the previous month; import from Taiwan is USD 11.91 billion, down by 7.5% than that of the previous month.

II. Investment from Taiwan

In January-October 2013, 1640 Taiwan-invested projects are approved, down by 7.2% year-on-year; the actual utilization of Taiwan Investment is USD 1.71 billion, down by 24.4% year-on-year.

In October 2013, the approved Taiwan-invested projects are 156, down by 0.6% than that of September, and the actual utilization of Taiwan investment is USD 70 million, down by 29.3% than that of September.

By the end of October 2013, the Taiwan-invested projects approved by Mainland are added up to 89,641, and the actual utilization of Taiwan investment is USD 58.81 billion, accounting for 4.3% of the total investment from overseas in the Mainland.
