I. Mainland-Macao Trade
Mainland-Macao trade during January-October 2013 amounted to USD2.94 billion, growing by 27.8% on a year-on-year basis. Among others, USD2.62 billion was Mainland’s export to Macao and USD320 million was Mainland’s import from Macao, increasing by 22.7% and 92.4% on a year-on-year basis respectively.
In October 2013, Mainland-Macao trade was USD290 million, decreasing by 6.8% on a month-on-month basis. Among others, Mainland’s export to Macao was USD260 million, increasing by 9.2% compared with that of the previous month and Mainland’s import from Macao was USD30 million, growing by 20.1% compared with that of the previous month.
II. Investment from Macao
During January-October 2013, 237 Macao-invested projects were approved by the Mainland, increasing by 3% on a year-on-year basis. The actual use of Macao capital contracted by 9.5% on a year-on-year basis to USD420 million.
In October 2013, 27 Macao-invested projects were approved by the Mainland, growing by 3.9% on a month-on-month basis. The actual use of Macao capital slipped by 12.8% than that of the previous month to USD30 million.
As at the end of October 2013, the accumulated Macao-invested projects approved by the Mainland were 13,379 with the actual use of USD11.31 billion. In terms of the utilized capital, Macao capital accounted for 0.8% of the Mainland accumulated attraction of foreign capital.
III. Mainland-Macao Economic Cooperation
During January-October 2013, the contracts of Mainland’s contracted projects in Macao reached 18 with a value of USD630 million. The turnover amounted to USD250 million. As at the end of October 2013, the number of labor dispatched to Macao was 82,781 and the accumulated turnover amounted to USD6.22 billion.
