I. Mainland-Macao Trade
Mainland-Macao trade during January-December 2013 amounted to USD3.57 billion, growing by 19.4% on a year-on-year basis. Among others, USD3.18 billion was Mainland’s export to Macao, and USD390 million was Mainland’s import from Macao, increasing by 17.4% and 38.7% on a year-on-year basis respectively.
In December 2013, Mainland-Macao trade was USD330 million, growing by 9.3% on a month-on-month basis. Among others, Mainland’s export to Macao was USD290 million and the Mainland’s import from Macao was USD40 million, going up by 7.3% and 28.4% respectively.
II. Investment from Macao
During January-December 2013, 310 Macao-invested projects were approved by the Mainland, increasing by 2.3% on a year-on-year basis. The actual use of Macao capital contracted by 8.9% to USD460 million.
In December 2013, 27 Macao-invested projects were approved by the Mainland, decreasing by 41.3% on a month-on-month basis. The actual use of Macao capital went up by 85.7% than that of the previous month to USD30 million.
As at the end of December 2013, Macao-invested projects approved by the Mainland reached 13,452 with an actual use of USD11.35 billion. In terms of the utilized capital, Macao capital accounted for 0.8% of the accumulated attraction of foreign capital.
III. Mainland-Macao Economic Cooperation
During January-December 2013, the contracts of Mainland’s contracted projects in Macao reached 23 with a value of USD870 million. The turnover amounted to USD420 billion. As at the end of December 2013, the number of labor dispatched to Macao was 89,152, and the accumulated turnover reached USD9.79 billion.
