I. Mainland-Macao Trade
Mainland-Macao trade in January-February 2014 amounted to USD480 million, dropping by 16.5% on a year-on-year basis. Among others, USD440 million was Mainland's export to Macao, and USD40 million was Mainland's import from Macao, dropping by 5.7% and 63.8% on a year-on-year basis respectively.
In February, Mainland-Macao trade amounted to USD190 million, dropping by 34.4% on a year-on-year basis. Among others, USD170 million was Mainland's export to Macao, and USD10 million was Mainland's import from Macao, dropping by 33.5% and 43.5% on a year-on-year basis respectively.
II. Investment from Macao
During January-February 2014, 33 Macao-invested projects were approved by the Mainland, increasing by 10% on a year-on-year basis. The actual use of Macao capital increased by 54.7% on a year-on-year basis to USD120 million.
In February 2014, 15 Macao-invested projects were approved by the Mainland, dropping by 16.7% on a month-on-month basis. The actual use of Macao capital slipped by 11.3% than that of the previous month to USD60 million.
As at the end of February 2014, the accumulated Macao-invested projects approved by the Mainland were 13,485 with the actual use of USD11.47 billion. In terms of the utilized capital, Macao capital accounted for 0.8% of the Mainland accumulated attraction of foreign capital.
III. Mainland-Macao Economic Cooperation
During January-February 2014, the contracts of Mainland’s contracted projects in Macao reached 3 with a value of USD1.45 billion. The turnover amounted to USD60 million. As at the end of February 2014, the number of labor dispatched to Macao was 91,918 and the accumulated turnover amounted to USD9.86 billion.
