I. Mainland-Macao Trade
Mainland-Macao trade in January-April 2014 amounted to US$1.09 billion, dropping 9.9% on a year-on-year basis. The mainland's export to Macao was valued US$1.02 billion, and the mainland's import from Macao was US$70 million, down 1.5% and 58.1% respectivelyon a year-on-year basis.
In April 2014, mainland-Macao trade amounted to US$280 million, going down 19.6% month on month. US$260 million was recorded in mainland's export to Macao, going down 21.8% month on month and US$20 million was mainland's import from Macao, going up 23.2% month on month.
II. Investment from Macao
During January-April 2014, 84 Macao-invested projects were approved by the mainland, falling down 1.2% on a year-on-year basis. The actually used capital from Macao increased 23.9% on a year-on-year basis to US$190 million.
In April 2014, 23 Macao-invested projects were approved by the mainland, dropping 17.9% on a month-on-month basis. The actual use of Macao capital went up 38.7% than that of the previous month to US$40 million.
As of the end of April 2014, the accumulated Macao-invested projects approved by the mainland were 13,536 with the actual use of US$11.54 billion. In terms of utilized capital, funds from Macao accounted for 0.8% of the mainland’s accumulated attraction of foreign capital.
III. Mainland-Macao Economic Cooperation
During January-April 2014, the mainland had 5 contracted projects in Macao with a combined value of US$1.48 billion. Turnover amounted to US$130 million. As of the end of April 2014, the number of laborers dispatched to Macao was 93,712. Accumulated turnover amounted to US$9.92 billion.
